Entry 6: WWI Propaganda

Sorry I know this is late. I decided to choose an image that you didn't talk about in class so I wouldn't be cheating. This is a British enlistment poster from World War I, using lions to represent the strong powerful Britain. This poster is mainly a challenge to the ego, and manhood. Using powerful looking lions and and a feeling of the responsibility to your elders. This challenges you to join up for Britain, countries overseas, and to help "the old lion". I'm not sure how effective this is. Maybe I don't get it because I am not British. I am wondering if the old lion represents Britain. I just don't think this is very convincing, I personally would have no connection to this.
